Applications for Prefect, House Captain and Head Girl/Head Boy are now being accepted through the Microsoft Form – Pupil Leadership Application Form

All applications should be submitted by Friday 26th April.

S5 into S6 Course Choice

Pupils moving into S6 will have an opportunity to choose four subjects to study. The fifth choice is left blank to allow for a study column. All pupils are also timetabled for the core subjects of PE, PSE, Holocaust Studies as well as a Leadership period which allows them time to lead aspects of school improvement and work with others as a committee.

S4 into S5 Course Choice

Pupils moving into S5 have the opportunity to choose five subjects to study. This is usually subjects that they have studied in S4 and are taking to the next level of study. They will also have core subjects which include PE, RE and PSE.  Young people who study National 5 courses in S5 will also select Wider Achievement courses.

S3 into S4

In S3, pupils had the opportunity to select subjects that they wished to study from the main curriculum areas. Young people now have a further choice where they will continue with seven of the nine subjects they have been studying onto a qualification at a variety of levels from National 3, 4 or 5.

Pupils will continue with English and Maths and will choose any other five from their S3 subjects. All pupils will also be timetabled for core subjects which include PE, RE and PSE.

S2 into S3

S3 is the final year of the Broad General Education phase of Curriculum for Excellence. As pupils prepare to move into S3, they have the opportunity to select subjects that they wish to continue to study. This degree of personalisation and choice is structured within curricular areas to maintain the principles of the Broad General Education.

Pupils will continue with English, Maths and will choose one subject from each of five curricular areas:  Social Subjects, Modern Languages, Science, Technologies and Expressive Art.  There are a further two choices to be made from the free choice column.

All pupils will also be timetabled for core subjects which include PE, RE, Citizenship and PSE.
