S5 into S6 Course Choice Information

Young people moving into S6 have the opportunity to choose five subjects to study. To support young people who are studying Advanced Highers they can choose to build study time into their timetable as follows.

• 2 Advanced Highers – one study column
• 3 Advanced Highers – pupils can choose to have up to 2 study columns.

All pupils are timetabled for the core subjects of PE, PSE, RME as well as a Leadership period which allows the pupils with an opportunity to lead aspects of school improvement and work with others as part of a committee. Young people who study National 5 courses in S6 will also select Wider Achievement courses which will be selected at a later date.

20th Jan	Course Choice parents’ evening & positive destination evening
Week Beg 26th Jan	Course Choice forms handed out in PSE and discussion of course choice options/process.
10th Feb	S5 Course Choice Interviews with guidance teacher.
