Parent Council

The Crieff High School Parent Council aims to give a voice to parents and carers within the school community. It is made up of a core committee, who are voted on at the Annual General Meeting, and a wider group of parents and carers that contribute to meetings and work with school staff to help deliver the aims of the school and support pupil wellbeing.

Office bearers of the 2025-26 committee are:

Ishbel Dale – Co-Chair

Kirsteen Jones – Co-Chair

Emma Martin – Vice-Chair

Nicola Fraser – Treasurer

Ross McNaughton – Secretary

The focus of the Parent Council for the 2025-26 school year is to:

  • Continue to support work on anti-bullying and mental health / wellbeing, including a regular update slot at each meeting.
  • Help to finalise the curriculum review work and input to school improvement plans.
  • Where possible, support the school in enhancing the ‘fun’ side of school life including arts, music, drama, sport, events, etc
  • Continue to help develop the school website and seek to improve parent communications more broadly.

Our meetings are open to everyone and we encourage all parents and carers to attend and help to influence future plans and support the school.

We normally have one or two meetings per term and you can join the Parent Council email list to receive meeting details directly (although information will also be sent out to parents and carers by the school). Items discussed are suggested by parents and staff and we are closely involved in developing school policies. There is plenty of time to raise issues, ask questions or comment on your experiences, or you can just listen to the updates.

In recent years we have helped to influence:

School curriculum review and subject choices

        Mobile phone policy

        Anti-bullying policy

        School website development

        Learning during lockdown

        Extra-curricular sport

Funding of school / extra-curricular activities

Meeting dates and agendas are notified via the weekly Head Teacher’s update, which is emailed to all parents and carers.  You can also email us on crieffhighparentcouncil@outlook.com if you’d like anything included on the agenda.

The meetings are attended by the Headteacher and other Senior Leadership Team staff, and we also regularly hear from the Head Girl and Boy.  All parents and carers are welcome to attend meetings on a regular basis or simply attend meetings that are of particular interest to them.
