Parent Council

The purpose of the Parent Council is to help provide a partnership and constructive dialogue between parents and carers and the school to help improve and enhance our young people’s experience at the school. The Parent Council allows parents and carers to bring to the fore any matters that are of mutual interest relating to our young people’s welfare and education. It is our job, as the Parent Council, to ensure the views of parents and carers are heard and considered.

The Parent Council is made up of a core committee (who are voted on at the Annual General Meeting) and a wider group of parents and carers that contribute to meetings and work with school staff to help deliver the aims of the school and support pupil well-being.

The focus of the Parent Council for the 2026-27 school year is to:

  • Continue to improve communications between the Parent Council and parents and carers
  • Support the school with any funding that is required for Crieff High School 50th Anniversary celebrations
  • Discuss further areas that the Parent Council can help with funding
  • Continue to keep the Parent Council functioning as an important link between parents, carers and the school

Our meetings are open to all parents and carers of young people attending Crieff High School and we welcome you all to attend to help support and influence future school plans.

We normally have one meeting per school term. The meeting dates and agenda are circulated via the Head Teacher’s weekly school newsletter and via the school’s email to all parents and carers – please keep an eye out for them as you are all most welcome! We also provide meeting dates via the Crieff High School Instagram.

The agenda is put together by the Parent Council Office Bearers and from any verbal or email suggestions from ordinary members, parents and carers. You can email us on crieffhighparentcouncil@outlook.com if you would like anything included on the agenda.  The Head Teacher is also asked if there are any agenda items that Crieff High School wish to be added. During the meetings there is plenty of time for anyone wishing to raise issues/questions, add comments or just listen to the updates and discussions.

In recent years the Crieff High School Parent Council has helped:

  • Drive the mobile phone policy
  • Provide funding for vouchers at the end of year school awards ceremony
  • Ensure all young people receive a school tie when starting in S1
  • Secure funding from Perth and Kinross Council and business donation

The meetings are attended by Parent Council Office Bearers and Ordinary Members, the Head Teacher (and sometimes other Senior Team Leadership Staff), we also hear from the Head Boy and Head Girl at some of the meetings. All parents and carers are welcome to attend the meetings whether it is attending all Parent Council meetings, the Annual General Meeting or just a meeting that is of particular interest. Please just come along on the night!
